Woolworths sits landside at King Shaka International Airport (DUR), handy if you’re being dropped off early or waiting on a late pickup. It runs typical mall-style hours, roughly 06:00 to early evening, but don’t count on it for the last departures of the night. You get the usual Woolies mix: pre-packed sandwiches, salads, yoghurts, juices and basic groceries that travel well.

Food prices here track normal South African Woolworths levels: expect around R45–R70 for a sandwich or wrap and R60–R90 for a decent salad bowl. That’s often cheaper than a sit‑down meal in the departures food court upstairs. Bottled water, soft drinks and snacks come in at supermarket pricing, not the marked‑up rates you’ll see airside.

Because it’s landside, you can use Woolworths for a quick top‑up before security if you’re flying domestically or international. Grab biltong, nuts, chocolate or a 500 ml drink for under R20–R25 and throw them straight into your cabin bag. Don’t expect a full fashion floor; this is more of a compact food and essentials setup than a full Woolworths store. You’ll still find basics like toiletries, tissues, hand sanitiser and a few travel-friendly items around the R20–R80 range. One practical move: buy snacks and water here, then head through security so you’re not stuck paying terminal bar prices at the gate.
