Short Term Parking South

Short stay

First 30 minutes at Short Term Parking South are free, then paid.

Short Term Parking South sits directly in front of Hamad International Airport’s Main terminal, so you walk to departures in about 3–5 minutes. It’s a short-stay car park, best for drop-offs, quick pick-ups, or meeting someone at arrivals without doing loops on the access road.

This facility works on a pay-on-exit system, with the first 30 minutes usually free and then charges applying in half-hour or hourly blocks. That structure keeps it useful for runs under 2–3 hours, like checking in family, handling oversized baggage, or waiting out a slightly delayed QR arrival.

The car park is uncovered and multi-row, with marked pedestrian paths leading straight toward the Main terminal entrance doors 1–3. Lifts and ramps in the terminal-side structures make it workable if you’re rolling two 23 kg checked bags plus hand luggage and don’t want to lift them into a shuttle.

Payment machines sit near the pedestrian exits toward the Main terminal, and you can also usually pay at the barrier with a card. Keep the paper ticket dry and flat; the machines reject bent or wet tickets more often than you’d like when you’ve been on the ramp for 15 minutes already.

Short Term Parking South pairs well with quick terminal errands like SIM purchase or a fast coffee in departures, because you can be back at your car within 10–15 minutes of stepping out of security. For anything beyond roughly 4–5 hours, Hamad’s long-term options usually work out cheaper per hour.

Practical tip: Screenshot or note your row and lane number as soon as you park; under Doha’s sun, one white SUV in Row 5 looks exactly like the others after a 90-minute airport run.
