Two-minute walk from the Main terminal, billed as short stay
Short Term Parking North sits directly in front of Hamad International Airport’s Main terminal, so you’re on the departures curb in roughly 2–3 minutes on foot. It’s set up for drop-offs, quick pick-ups, and same-day meetings rather than long trips. Follow the signs for “Short Term North” as you approach the terminal access road; it splits from the long-term traffic just before the main forecourt.
This car park is a multi-level short-stay facility with marked pedestrian routes straight to the Main terminal entrances 1–3. You stay landside the whole time, so there is no shuttle bus or extra security checkpoint between the car park and the check-in halls. Elevators link all levels to ground level, so wheeling a 23 kg checked bag from the upper decks is still manageable.
Pricing here is structured by the hour and ramps up after the first few hours, which makes Short Term Parking North workable for 1–6 hour stops but expensive if you leave the car for more than a day. If you expect to be at Hamad for anything close to 24 hours, you’re usually better off switching to long-term parking instead of letting the hourly clock run overnight.
Payment is automated at machines near the pedestrian exits and at the vehicle exit barriers, taking standard bank cards and local Qatari riyal notes. Keep your entry ticket dry and flat in your wallet or phone case; if the barcode won’t scan at the gate, you can lose 5–10 minutes getting manual help from the support intercom.
Tip: if you’re just collecting someone from the Main terminal, wait for their “bags in hand” message before pulling into Short Term Parking North to keep your total parked time under one hour.
