Idli-vada combos here run cheaper than Sagar Ratna in T3
Vaango sits airside in Terminal T3 as the budget South Indian option, with most basic items under ₹250 and a rough 3.5-star rating online. It’s a quick counter-service setup, so you order, pay, and pick up at the counter instead of waiting for table service. Think mall-food-court Vaango, just inside the international terminal instead of a shopping center.
Service runs through typical flight banks in T3, and regulars say idli-vada combos land faster than dosas during peak departure waves around midnight and early morning. The self-service format works well if you’re solo and just want to eat within 10–15 minutes of ordering. One traveler flat out said, “Vaango is where I grab a quick idli before boarding; it’s faster and cheaper than Sagar.”
Food is basic South Indian: masala dosa, plain dosa, idli, vada, sambar, and chutneys, plus combo plates; expect airport pricing, but still on the low end for T3. If you care about speed, stick to steamed items and vadas instead of made-to-order dosas that can stretch your wait to 20 minutes when they’re backed up. Filter coffee here costs roughly the same as a machine cappuccino elsewhere in the terminal and gets better comments than the chain cafés on the mezzanine.
Watch out for complaints on portion size, especially dosa plates that feel small for the price compared to city branches. Several reviews also mention food arriving lukewarm when the outlet is quiet in the middle of the day, so during off-peak hours it’s worth asking for fresh sambar or a reheat. Regulars often grab coffee here instead of the big international chains specifically for the South Indian–style filter brew.
Tip: with a short connection through T3, order an idli-vada combo and filter coffee at the same time, then stay near the counter so you can grab your tray and reach most common gates in under 5–7 minutes.
