When Plaza Premium fills up, Encalm in T3 takes the spillover
Encalm Lounge sits airside in Delhi T3 International, after security and passport control, and functions as the extra contract option when the main names are packed. Access is via many international credit cards or paid entry at the desk, typically running in the mid-range for Delhi lounges rather than premium flagship pricing. If you’re flying out of the T3 international pier used by most Star Alliance and oneworld carriers, it’s a reasonable place to wait without camping out at the gate.
The lounge keeps long hours, generally opening before the early morning departures around 03:00–04:00 and running through the late-night bank that leaves after 22:00. That lines up with the heavy long‑haul waves out of Delhi, so you can usually get in for a shower or a plate of food even on awkward 02:30 red‑eyes. Check your specific card’s access window, because some Indian bank cards only allow one visit per calendar day at Encalm in T3.
Food sits in the usual Delhi international lounge lane: Indian hot dishes, a couple of Western basics like pasta or baked items, and simple desserts. You’ll see staples like dal, rice, and at least one paneer or chicken option during main meal periods, with lighter snacks outside lunch and dinner. Self‑serve soft drinks and tea/coffee machines are standard; some entry tiers include basic alcoholic drinks, while premium liquor may carry a separate charge or be restricted to certain card programs.
Seating runs across typical lounge armchairs and dining tables, with power outlets scattered but not at every single seat, so bring a fully charged battery pack if you’re working. Wi‑Fi is complimentary and usually fast enough for email and streaming a short show, though it can slow during the 22:00–02:00 peak when multiple widebodies out of T3 are boarding. Lighting is brighter than some older lounges in the terminal, which helps if you’re trying to stay awake for a late departure.
The practical move: in T3 International, clear security at least 90 minutes before boarding, walk straight to your gate to confirm the distance, then backtrack to Encalm only if you can keep a 30‑minute buffer to walk back and queue at boarding.
