Terminal 3 Car Park

Covered parking

50 metres from Terminal 3 departures, under-cover the whole way

Terminal 3 Car Park sits directly in front of Julius Nyerere International Airport’s T3 building, with a walking time of about 2–4 minutes to the main departures entrance. It is a covered facility, so both you and your car stay out of the Dar es Salaam sun and seasonal rains. If you’re flying with long-haul carriers using Terminal 3, this is the closest structured parking you’ll get.

The car park is inside the Terminal 3 perimeter, so you pass one airport access checkpoint before reaching the entry barrier. Being covered, it suits longer trips of 3–10 days where you care about paintwork and interior heat. Short-stay use for pickups and drop-offs also works, but tariff boards at the entrance usually show pricing stepping up sharply after the first hour or two, so check the posted hourly and daily rates before you pull a ticket.

Lighting is fixed to the ceiling rows, and cameras typically cover the main drive lanes and entry/exit points in this structure. Because it is attached to Terminal 3, there’s regular vehicle movement tied to banked departures in the evening and overnight long-haul departures after 20:00. If you land into Terminal 1 or 2 on a domestic connection, you’ll need a short landside transfer by airport shuttle or taxi to get back to this car park.

Marked pedestrian paths lead from the parking levels toward the Terminal 3 entrance doors, usually within 100 metres of most bays. Elevators or ramps connect levels; if you’re dragging two checked bags and a cabin-sized suitcase, aim for a space on the same level as the terminal footbridge if possible. Last tip: photograph your bay number and the nearest column marker before you walk off; after a 10-day trip, that picture saves time in the Dar humidity.
