75–90 minutes from Da Nang Airport to Hoi An
The Hoi An Shuttle Bus runs between Da Nang International Airport (DAD) and Hoi An in about 75–90 minutes, depending on traffic on Vo Nguyen Giap and the coastal road. It’s an intercity minibus-style service, not a city bus, and usually groups passengers with similar arrival times from both T1 (domestic) and T2 (international).
Most operators time departures to flight banks, so expect buses to leave roughly every 60–90 minutes from early morning to late evening when arrivals at T1 and T2 are busy. You normally meet the driver at a signed pickup point outside the arrivals hall, just past the main taxi rank and ride-hail lanes.
Typical one-way fares sit in the 120,000–160,000 VND range per person, paid in cash to the driver or in advance through your Hoi An hotel or a tour desk inside the terminal. That’s usually cheaper than a 250,000–400,000 VND private car from DAD to Hoi An and only a bit slower if traffic is light.
Most Hoi An Shuttle Bus services use 12–16 seat minibuses with basic air-conditioning and limited luggage space in the rear plus the last row. If your checked bag is larger than 23 kg or you’re carrying surfboards or bike boxes, confirm space when booking; otherwise the driver may charge a small extra fee on arrival at T1 or T2.
Buses usually drop off at central Hoi An areas like the Old Town, An Bang, or Cua Dai Road, with a maximum of 3–6 stops per run. Some tickets include hotel drop-off within about 2–3 km of Hoi An Ancient Town, while others end at a fixed point such as a travel office on Tran Hung Dao Street, so read the confirmation before you leave the airport.
Booking is almost always done at least 2–3 hours in advance through hotels in Hoi An, online agencies, or small counters near the exits of T1 and T2. Walk-up space is hit-or-miss in peak months like December and January, so lock in a seat as soon as you know your flight number and arrival time.
One practical tip: keep your driver’s phone or WhatsApp number and the license plate written down before you leave the curb at Da Nang Airport; if your bag or passport gets left on the bus in Hoi An, that note is worth more than any receipt.
