7,000–15,000 VND gets you from Da Nang Airport into town
Bus Route 10 runs between Da Nang and Hoi An, and you can board it outside Da Nang International Airport’s T1 domestic terminal on the public road, not inside the terminal area. It’s a standard city bus, not an airport shuttle, so expect basic seating, open windows, and cash payment to the conductor or driver. Fares on similar local routes sit in the 7,000–15,000 VND range per person, depending on distance along the line.
The airport itself has two terminals, T1 for domestic and T2 for international, and you’ll have to walk a few minutes from either terminal to the main road where Route 10 passes. Buses in Da Nang typically start running around 05:30–06:00 and wind down by about 18:00–19:00, so late-night arrivals at DAD should not count on catching Route 10. There is no luggage rack, so your 23 kg checked bag just goes on the floor by your seat.
Expect city-bus speeds, not taxi speeds: the ride from the airport area toward Da Nang city center can take 25–40 minutes depending on traffic on streets like Nguyen Van Linh and Le Duan, and continuing toward Hoi An pushes total time closer to an hour. The flip side is cost: a one-way bus fare runs less than 1 USD at current rates, where a taxi from DAD to Hoi An typically lands in the 300,000–400,000 VND range. Pay in small notes like 5,000 and 10,000 VND to avoid change issues.
Because Route 10 is a city service, there is no English signage tailored to flights, and no screen showing “Da Nang International Airport” as a special stop; you’re just boarding along the regular line. Locals often board and hop off quickly near big intersections, so keep an eye out for obvious landmarks around T1 and T2, and confirm “San bay Da Nang” or “Hoi An” with the driver before you sit down. You board at the front door, pay immediately, and keep the small paper ticket you’re handed for spot checks.
Tip: before exiting T1 or T2, use airport Wi‑Fi to pin the Route 10 stop on your map, then zoom in on the exact roadside shelter so you’re not guessing which curb to stand at once you’re outside in Da Nang heat.
