Most reviews skip Orchid Lounge and jump straight to SH Premium.

Orchid Lounge sits airside in T1, on the domestic side of Da Nang International Airport (DAD), branded as a CIP lounge mainly used by Vietnamese carriers and contracted services. It serves passengers on domestic flights only, so if you’re heading to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or other in-country routes from T1, this is the relevant space, not the T2 international lounges. Access typically comes via airline invitations, CIP packages, or pre-booked services rather than walk-up Priority Pass.

The lounge operates around the domestic schedule in T1, usually opening early morning before the first departures around 05:00–06:00 and staying open until the last evening flights clear. Because this isn’t the headline Priority Pass option at DAD, it often feels quieter than the SH Premium Lounge during mid-morning and late-afternoon banks. If you already hold a CIP voucher tied to a domestic ticket, staff at the T1 check-in desks can confirm on the spot if it’s valid for Orchid.

Seating runs along windows and interior walls near the domestic gates in T1, with standard armchairs and small side tables rather than daybeds. Power outlets tend to cluster along the walls, so grab a seat on the perimeter if you need to charge a laptop or phone for an hour or two before your flight. Wi‑Fi access normally uses a password printed on a slip at reception; if it’s missing, asking the desk is quicker than flagging down floor staff.

Food in Vietnamese domestic lounges like Orchid usually means hot items such as fried rice or noodles, plus snacks and basic fruit, rotated to match peak departure waves out of T1. Expect canned soft drinks, tea, and coffee machines rather than a full bar, with alcohol limited or absent compared with some T2 international lounges. If you care about a proper meal, it’s worth treating the buffet as a light top-up and grabbing something stronger in the main terminal before you head through the lounge doors.

Because solid, detailed trip reports on Orchid Lounge are thin compared with SH Premium, manage expectations and treat it as a step up from a standard T1 gate seat, not a hotel-style space. Build a 60–90 minute buffer at DAD for check-in, security at T1, and a short lounge stop, and always confirm at check-in which lounge your specific domestic ticket and vouchers actually map to before you walk down the wrong corridor.
