Food

T1

By Gate 2 in T1, Tap & Brew is the main sit-down bar

Tap & Brew sits airside in Terminal 1 near gates 1–3, so it’s the obvious stop if you’ve cleared security early and want a table instead of grabbing a sandwich. It runs from the first morning departures through the last evening wave, generally matching T1 flight schedules rather than strict posted hours.

Food is standard pub-style: burgers, chips, and a few lighter bites, with mains usually landing in the £10–£18 range. Expect draught beer, bottled options, and the usual airport spirits and wine by the glass. Service speed tracks how full the gate area is; when T1 banks two or three departures around the same 30‑minute window, wait times creep up.

There’s no separate takeaway counter, but staff are used to people on a 40‑minute turnaround asking for the bill quickly. Seating is mostly standard tables spaced along the concourse side, so you can keep an eye on the T1 departure boards without leaving your drink. Power outlets are limited, and the better ones go first during the evening Cardiff–Europe flights.

Watch out for timing: food tickets can hit 20 minutes when several flights to Spain and the UK push at once from nearby gates. If your flight from T1 boards in under 30 minutes, stick to a drink or a quick snack instead of a full hot meal. Tip: grab a seat facing the screens so you can see gate changes without packing up.
