51° Executive Lounge

Lounge

T1

Gate-side in T1, this is Cardiff’s only pay-in lounge

At Cardiff Airport’s T1, 51° Executive Lounge sits upstairs past security, serving as the airport’s single lounge option. Entry usually runs around £30–£40 per person, either prepaid online or at the door when space allows. Seating is mostly armchairs and small tables, fine for a 1–2 hour wait but not set up as a full office. Power outlets are dotted around, so charge everything as soon as you find a free socket.

The lounge typically opens in line with morning departures, around 04:00 for the first wave of flights, and often closes by early evening once the last departures leave T1. Food is basic self-serve: cereals and pastries at breakfast, then light snacks and finger food later in the day rather than full hot meals. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee come from machines, with house alcohol included subject to local licensing hours.

There’s free Wi‑Fi inside 51° Executive Lounge, usually faster and more stable than the main terminal network, but still not something to rely on for big uploads. Views look out over the apron and runway at CWL, which helps pass a 60–90 minute wait between boarding calls. Capacity is limited, so it can feel busy when a couple of A320s depart close together.

Book a timed slot online for 51° Executive Lounge before your T1 flight, then head up as soon as you clear security to get a seat near a plug and the windows.
