Peruvian Grill

Fast Peruvian plates before your Cusco departure

Peruvian Grill sits airside at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), inside the small departures area after security. It’s a basic counter-service setup with tables right in the concourse, so you keep your bag in sight and still be within two minutes of most domestic gates. Menu boards show prices clearly in soles, and you order and pay at the counter, then wait for your tray.

The food leans hard into local flavors: grilled chicken, lomo saltado-style beef, rice, fries, and simple salads. Expect mains in the S/25–40 range, which runs cheaper than many sit-down options in Lima but slightly above street prices in Cusco itself. Portions tend to be large enough to count as your main meal before a Lima or international connection.

Service runs on airport time: staff move orders quickly when flights bank in the mid-morning and late afternoon peaks, and slower in the mid-day lull. Turnaround for a hot plate usually hits 10–20 minutes, so build that into your boarding time, especially for LATAM departures where boarding often starts 35–40 minutes before wheels-up. They also have grab-and-go items and bottled drinks if your flight boards in under 20 minutes.

This is not fine dining: expect plastic cutlery, paper plates, and fluorescent lighting. The tradeoff is reliable hot food in a terminal that doesn’t have many full-meal options beyond basic snacks and coffee kiosks. You can usually find an open table near the gate screens, which sit about 30–50 meters from the counter, so you won’t miss a boarding call even without listening for announcements.

Practical tip: if you want a full grilled chicken plate before an early flight out of CUZ, aim to order at Peruvian Grill at least 45 minutes before scheduled departure, and keep your boarding pass handy when they call out completed orders by name.
