Burgers and fries at Bembos before your Cusco departure
Bembos sits in the main departures area of Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), airside after security, so you can grab a burger without leaving the gate zone. It’s a Peruvian fast-food chain, so the menu skews familiar: burgers, fries, chicken, and milkshakes geared to quick service between flights.
Expect fast-food pricing by airport standards: combo meals typically land in the S/25–S/35 range, with single burgers cheaper and add-ons like fries and drinks pushing the total higher. Portions run similar to US chains, which works if you want one solid meal before a 2–3 hour flight out of Cusco.
The difference from US brands shows up in the toppings: Bembos usually features burgers with local-style sauces and ingredients like ají-based dressings or extra cheese-heavy builds. If you keep it simple, stick to a classic cheeseburger combo and standard fries; if you want something more local, look for options named after Peruvian cities or flavors on the overhead boards.
Service runs on fast-food timing, usually under 10–15 minutes from order to tray even when several flights bank around the same hour. Seating is limited and spills into the public dining area shared with other vendors, so at peak times you may end up carrying your food back toward your gate rather than eating at a dedicated Bembos table.
Bembos opens in the morning and generally tracks airport flight waves, often serving from around 6:00 until at least the last evening departures in the 20:00–22:00 band. If you land from a morning Lima–Cusco hop and connect out in the afternoon, this is one of the few spots in CUZ where you can reliably get a hot meal across most of the day.
Tip: lines spike 45–60 minutes before major Lima and international departures, so order first, then hunt for seating rather than the other way around.
