TGI Friday's

T2

T2’s sit-down TGI Friday’s is one of the few big-name chains here

In Terminal T2 after security, TGI Friday’s sits in the departures food court on the upper level, so you clear passport control, go through screening, then head upstairs for a full-service meal. This is one of the only US casual chains listed in the CUN directory, which helps if you just want something familiar before a flight back to Houston, Dallas, or Mexico City.

The restaurant sits airside in T2’s departures zone, so you must have a boarding pass and pass security before you can eat here. That matters because Terminal 2 also has a separate arrivals side with only quick coffee counters; TGI Friday’s is not available there. If you’re flying domestic or charter out of T2, you’ll see the food court signs overhead once you reach the main gate area.

Pricing runs airport-high compared with downtown Cancún: think US chain levels, with mains likely in the US$15–25 range once converted from pesos, plus 10–15% tip. Expect the usual Friday’s menu style: burgers, fries, chicken tenders, maybe ribs or fajitas, and draft beer or margaritas. If you only want something small before a 3-hour hop, stick to shared appetizers and soft drinks to keep both the bill and timing under control.

Service at Cancun Airport restaurants often runs on “vacation time,” so budget 45–60 minutes from sit-down to paid bill if you order a full meal at TGI Friday’s, especially in high season around Christmas, Easter, or summer school breaks. If you’re inside T2 with less than 30 minutes to boarding, you’re safer grabbing tacos or sandwiches from a counter in the same food court instead of a table-service order.

Tip: T2 can get crowded two hours before US departures, so claim a table at TGI Friday’s first, then send one person from your group to check the nearby gate screens for any last-minute changes.
