Gate-side sandwiches in T4 when you just need calories
Grab and Go sits airside in Terminal 4 at Cancún (CUN T4), and it’s exactly what the name says: pre-made sandwiches, packaged snacks, and cold drinks you can carry to the gate. Think basic airport fuel, not a sit-down meal. Seating is limited, so plan to eat at your gate if you’re on a busy bank of departures, especially around the morning rush from about 7:00 to 10:00.
Everything here is quick-serve. You’ll see chilled cases with turkey or ham sandwiches, wraps, and salads, typically priced in the MX$150–MX$260 range (roughly US$9–$15). Drinks run high even by airport standards: a bottled soft drink or water can easily hit MX$50–MX$70. Expect packaged chips, candy bars, and a few pastries stacked near the register for another MX$40–MX$80 each.
Service is counter-only, and you pay before you touch your food, which helps if you’re racing to a gate change in T4’s long concourse. There’s usually at least one card terminal working, and most cards with chip or contactless function fine, though bring a backup since Cancún POS systems occasionally glitch. You can pay in pesos or US dollars, but the in-store conversion rate usually favors pesos by a noticeable margin.
Ordering strategy: grab the cold items from the front of the case; they tend to be fresher than ones pushed to the back. Check date stickers on salads and dairy-based sandwiches and skip anything dated more than one day back. For coffee, expect basic drip or machine espresso, not a specialty bar; if you want a latte, you’re better off at another T4 café and just using Grab and Go for snacks.
Tip: buy water and snacks here before heading to distant gates in T4, since options thin out and prices at smaller kiosks closer to the far gates can be a bit higher for the same bottle.
