First 10 minutes are free at the Terminal 2 Parking Lot
The short-term Terminal 2 Parking Lot sits directly in front of CUN’s T2 building, so you walk 2–4 minutes from car to check-in. It’s a surface lot, not covered, and mainly used for drop-offs, quick pick-ups, and waiting on delayed arrivals at Terminal 2.
Parking here is short-stay focused, with prices charged by the hour and a daily maximum that competes well with nearby off-airport options within 5–10 minutes’ drive. Payment usually runs through automated machines that accept pesos and major cards before you exit, with tickets scanned at the gate on the way out.
Terminal 2 handles several Mexican and international carriers, so this lot lines up best if your flight departs or arrives at T2 rather than T3 or T4. If you park here but fly from T3 or T4, you’re looking at an extra 5–15 minutes by airport shuttle or taxi, which eats into any time saved.
Security staff patrol the Terminal 2 Parking Lot and cameras cover the main lanes, but it’s still an outdoor setup in the Yucatán heat. Shade is limited, so a car parked here for more than 3–4 hours on a sunny day will be hot inside; use sunshades and avoid leaving anything visible on the seats.
There’s no dedicated long-term section in this lot, and leaving a car multiple days can cost more than off-airport parking areas a few kilometers away. If you plan to park more than 24–48 hours, compare daily rates with private lots along the highway toward Cancún before committing to T2.
Practical tip: take a quick photo of your license plate and the nearest row sign as soon as you park; it speeds up paying at the machine and finding your car when you walk back from Terminal 2 arrivals.
