Daily rates here usually beat the on-airport lots
The Economy Parking Area at Cancún International Airport (CUN) is the budget play if you’re driving yourself. It serves Terminals T2, T3, and T4, so you can park once and ride or walk to whichever terminal your airline uses. Signage on the airport access road clearly labels the economy area in Spanish and English, so watch for “Estacionamiento Económico” as you approach.
This is an open-air surface lot with marked spaces sized for standard cars and small SUVs; oversized vehicles sometimes get pushed to the edges. Expect basic security: perimeter fencing, lighting at night, and patrols tied into the airport’s main security operation. Because it’s outdoor parking, summer afternoons can hit well above 30°C, so bring a sunshade if you plan to leave the car for several days.
Pricing is typically by the hour up to a 24‑hour cap; the economy daily rate often runs significantly lower than short‑term parking directly in front of the terminals. Most drivers use a mix of cash in MXN pesos and standard credit cards at the pay stations. Keep your ticket from the entry gate; losing it usually triggers a flat “lost ticket” fee that can be higher than the normal daily maximum.
Access to the terminals depends on which one you’re using. From the Economy Parking Area, shuttle vans usually loop to T2, T3, and T4 during daytime and evening flight banks, with waits varying by traffic. Build in at least 20–30 minutes from parking your car to reaching check‑in. If you’re on a tight schedule, drop bags and passengers at the terminal curb first, then loop back to park.
