VIP Lounge by Mera

T3 Open · 08:00-21:00 Day pass $29

BA sends its Cancun T3 passengers here, not to a branded lounge

This is VIP Lounge by Mera in Terminal 3, open 08:00–21:00 daily, and it doubles as the “BA lounge” for oneworld elites and premium BA tickets out of CUN. It’s a generic contract space used by several airlines plus programs like Priority Pass, Diners Club, and LoungeBuddy credits, so it fills up in the afternoon bank of international departures.

You’ll find the entrance airside in T3: clear security, walk through duty free, then turn right toward Bubba Gump; at the end of that hall, a small sign points to the lounge door. Access is only for passengers departing internationally from Terminal 3, so a T2 or T4 boarding pass won’t work, and you can’t use it on domestic Mexican routes.

Walk-up day passes run about $29 per person, charged at the front desk in USD or card, which stings a bit given reviewers describe the food as basic canapés, chips, and a few cold items rather than a full hot buffet. The alcohol is standard bar rail with local beer and house wine, so expect “free drinks” quality, not a curated list or premium spirits.

Seating runs tight when BA and other long‑haul flights are boarding from T3, and TripAdvisor users repeatedly call it “generic” compared with BA’s UK lounges at Heathrow T5 or Gatwick South. Power outlets are scattered rather than at every seat, so charge your phone at the gate if you’re leaving on a 10‑plus‑hour flight to London or beyond.

Regular BA and oneworld status travelers report they aim for about 45–60 minutes here: one drink, a snack, bathroom stop, and then they walk to the gate about 30 minutes before boarding. That pattern makes sense given Cancun’s main concourse in T3 has coffee, snacks, and a few sit‑down options that don’t feel much worse than the lounge’s buffet.

Watch out for crowding and waitlists during the 14:00–18:00 window when multiple US and European departures leave from T3, and for the disappointment factor if you arrive expecting something like a flagship carrier lounge. One last tip: if you hold a credit card with LoungeBuddy credits, check pricing there first – FlyerTalk users note it can offset most or all of the $29 sticker shock.
