Mera Business Lounge

T2 · A Open · 08:00-21:00

Escalator by Gate A in T2 is your marker for MERA

This Mera Business Lounge sits airside in Terminal T2, just past security near Gate A, up the escalators on the right. It runs roughly 08:00–21:00 daily, so it covers most departures out of the older charter-heavy terminal. It’s upstairs and slightly hidden behind the escalator bank, which means many people walk past without realizing there’s a lounge at all.

Access works via Priority Pass, Diners Club, and paid entry at the door in T2, all once you’re through security. Old FlyerTalk posts mention children under 12 admitted free, but treat that as “ask and confirm” at check‑in rather than guaranteed policy. Diners Club cardholders often use this spot when Priority Pass is capped or turned away during peak holiday traffic.

Food is strictly functional: reviewers talk about basic canapés, a few snack plates, and standard drinks rather than anything resembling a full hot buffet. If you want a real meal before a 19:30 departure from Gate A, you’re usually better off grabbing food landside or at one of the terminal restaurants and using MERA mainly for a seat and AC. Think “light bites and soda/beer” instead of dinner.

The space itself has computers, air conditioning, and a mix of standard lounge chairs and some more padded seats; one FlyerTalk user called it “fair” for working before a flight. Telephone, fax, and conference-style facilities have historically been available as chargeable extras, not part of the free package. Wi‑Fi is included, but power outlets can be hit-or-miss depending on which row of seats you land in.

What regulars do: CUN frequent flyers say to check at the bottom of the Gate A escalator or at the terminal info desk that MERA T2 is currently open, as it has had “temporarily closed” periods and partially blocked-off sections. Many treat it as a quiet(er) upstairs waiting room to clear email for an hour rather than a place to spend a three-hour layover hoping to be fed properly.

Watch out for older information online about special services or expanded food; the setup described in 2010 looks different from the leaner snacks people report in recent years. If you’re on a 10:00–12:00 midday departure bank out of T2, build in a backup plan for coffee and a sandwich downstairs in case the lounge is full or closed.

Practical tip: after clearing T2 security, walk toward Gate A and take the right-hand escalator immediately; if you reach the main gate seating area with souvenir shops, you’ve gone too far and need to backtrack to find the lounge tucked behind the escalators.
