Wagas

T2 ★ 3.9

T2’s Wagas is one of the few Western-leaning spots at CTU

Right in Terminal T2, Wagas pulls a 3.9 rating from diners who want salads, sandwiches, and coffee instead of another bowl of noodles before boarding. It’s past security, so you can sit down without clock-watching for the departure check again. Expect the usual Wagas mix of pastas, paninis, grain bowls, and smoothies rather than Sichuan standards.

Prices sit in the mid-airport range: a sandwich or salad typically lands in the ¥45–¥70 bracket, with coffee and smoothies running around ¥25–¥40. Portions skew lighter than most airport Chinese restaurants, which helps if you’ve got a long-haul ahead and don’t want to feel weighed down. Card payment is standard here, and most reviews mention quick receipt processing even during busier T2 bank times.

Menu boards usually highlight chicken Caesar-style salads, avocado-based sandwiches, and pasta bowls; these are the safest bets if you’re used to other Wagas locations in Shanghai or Beijing. Hot dishes can cool quickly if you’re sitting near the concourse glass, so eat pasta and paninis on-site rather than taking them away to a gate in the high 200s. Coffee quality tracks with a midrange city café, not specialty shop level, but it comfortably beats the auto-dispense machines scattered along T2.

Because Wagas in T2 doesn’t have much soft seating, peak periods around the 10:00–12:00 and 17:00–19:00 departure waves can feel cramped, especially near the power outlets. If your flight from T2 boards around gates 203–220, give yourself at least 30 minutes here so you can finish, pay, and walk back without cutting into boarding. Easiest move: mobile-order or point quickly at the counter menu, then grab any two-top that faces the concourse for the fastest exit when your row is called.
