Near T2 security, FamilyMart is the quickest food stop
FamilyMart in Chengdu Shuangliu’s T2 sits just past security and pulls a 3.5-star rating from travelers who want something fast and predictable. This is a standard Japanese-style convenience store, not a sit-down spot, so think grab-and-go in under five minutes and eat at the gate.
You’ll find the usual Chinese airport staples: instant noodles for under ¥10, bottled drinks around ¥5–10, plus packaged buns, onigiri-style rice balls, and sandwiches in the ¥8–20 range. Coffee and canned milk tea sit in the same price band you’d see in the city, noticeably cheaper than most terminal cafés in T2.
Most of the hot food comes from the microwave shelf: sausages on sticks, boxed rice dishes, and frozen dumplings that staff heat for you in a couple of minutes. If your flight leaves from a distant T2 gate, this is often the last real chance to grab a warm meal without paying restaurant prices upwards of ¥40–60.
Selection leans heavily on snacks: Lay’s in local flavors, dried tofu packs, nuts, and plenty of candy, all around the ¥5–20 mark. Expect a solid fridge wall of soft drinks, functional dairy, and bottled water, plus a smaller alcoholic section with a few beers if your airline and timing allow it before boarding.
There’s no seating here, just a narrow aisle and a couple of counter-height ledges, so plan to carry everything back to your gate in T2. Lines spike around morning departures before 9:00 and again in the early evening rush, but even then you’re rarely waiting more than 5–10 minutes.
Tip: If you want a hot meal, grab a microwave bowl or bento first, pay, then heat it immediately so it’s still warm after the 5–10 minute walk to some of the farther T2 gates.
