Gate-side caffeine fix in T1 from 5:00 daily
In Terminal T1 past security, Mr Bono Station runs from 5:00 to 22:00, which covers the bulk of early Avianca and LATAM departures plus late arrivals. It sits in the international section of T1, so this is a workable option once you clear exit immigration on outbound flights from Cartagena.
This is a mid-range $$ café, so expect airport pricing: coffee drinks in the medium-bracket for Colombia, and snacks a notch above city cafés. Figure on paying more than in the Old Town, but less than full sit-down spots in CTG. If you want something quick before an 8:00 departure, you’re not stuck with only packaged pastries from the newsstand.
Menu is standard café fare: espresso-based drinks, basic pastries, and some grab-and-go bites that travel. A double espresso or cappuccino here plays better than the generic drip options you’ll see near the gates. If you’re connecting or arriving from a long-haul and need to function for a 10:00 meeting downtown, this is one of the more reliable coffee stops in T1.
Seating skews toward stools and small tables rather than full-on restaurant chairs, and it’s right in the T1 departures area, so expect foot traffic and boarding calls in earshot. That said, grabbing a seat here for 20–30 minutes beats hovering at a crowded gate when your flight is still 90 minutes out. Power outlets are hit-or-miss, so don’t bank on charging a dead laptop before your 18:30 departure.
Tip: if you have a morning flight out of T1, clear security first, then grab coffee and a snack at Mr Bono Station on the airside; lines tend to be shorter here around 6:00–7:00 than at check-in level cafés.
