Gate-side snack stop in Terminal A opens at 6:00
Sfizio sits airside in Terminal A at Catania-Fontanarossa, running daily from 06:00 to 21:00. It’s a straightforward food counter: coffee, soft drinks, pastries, and grab-and-go bites you can carry to gates A1–A20 in under five minutes.
Morning traffic hits as the first departures push out around 07:00, so expect a short line for espresso and cornetti. Prices land in standard Italian-airport territory: a basic espresso usually under €2 and a pastry in the €2–€3 range, so you’re not getting city-center deals but nothing outrageous for airside.
During the 12:00–14:00 window, Sfizio leans harder on quick savory options: sandwiches, panini, and packaged snacks you can eat in 10–15 minutes before boarding. Hot food is limited compared with a sit-down restaurant elsewhere in Italy, so think refuel-and-go rather than a full lunch break. Card payments are accepted, which helps if you’re burning through the last €10 in your wallet.
There’s no big seating area around Sfizio, just a few bar spots and nearby chairs shared with other Terminal A passengers. If your boarding pass shows a tight connection under 45 minutes, this is one of the few places you can grab something without straying far from the A-gates. Tip: order, pay, then move a few meters toward your gate to find a quieter seat before you start eating.
