Gate-side snacks before security checks in Terminal A

Briciole sits landside in Terminal A at Catania-Fontanarossa, handy if you arrive more than 60 minutes before a Schengen departure and don’t want to clear security yet. It runs typical daytime hours tied to flight banks, opening early for morning departures and staying open into the evening when the last CTA flights go out.

This is a quick food stop: counter service, grab-and-go sandwiches, pastries, and drinks at standard airport pricing. Expect coffee around the Italian norm, not a premium mark-up, and pre-made panini that hold up fine for an hour-long hop to Rome or Milan. It’s more “fuel and move on” than sit-down dining.

Coffee is the main play here. Order an espresso or cappuccino and you get something recognisably Italian, not a generic push-button brew. Cold drinks and packaged snacks round out the offer, so you can stock up for low-cost carriers that skip free service on short routes under 90 minutes.

Seating is limited and close to the flow of Terminal A check-in desks, so don’t plan on spreading out with a laptop for two hours. If your gate prints from the C pier, factor in a 10–15 minute walk from Briciole through security and down to the gates.

Tip: grab your sandwich and coffee here, then clear security right after; lines in Terminal A can spike above 20 minutes during morning waves around 07:00–09:00.
