Gate-side Sicilian souvenirs before security at Terminal A
Goodbuy Sicily – Air Side sits in Terminal A’s airside shopping strip, past security and on the way to the Schengen gates. It’s a pure souvenir shop, not a duty free clone, so it leans heavily on Sicilian themes rather than generic “Italy” merchandise.
You’ll see shelves of regional food items alongside the magnets and keyrings: pistachio sweets from Bronte, small jars of pesto alla trapanese, and boxed cannoli kits typically priced around €8–€15. Packaged goods are sealed and labeled for travel, so they’re safe in cabin bags and make quick gifts if you forgot to shop in town.
Non-food souvenirs run from €3 fridge magnets with Etna scenes to mid-range gifts like ceramic tiles and small vases around the €15–€30 mark. Quality skews touristy but serviceable; think last-minute presents rather than heirlooms from a Catania boutique. Cards and small toys keep kids occupied if you need a distraction near the A-gates.
Opening hours generally track flight banks, with the shop open for the first departures around 05:00 and still trading for late evening flights after 21:00. If you land late and connect within Terminal A, you usually still have a window to grab something before heading to baggage claim and ground transport.
Tip: liquids under 100 ml are fine in hand luggage, but if you’re buying larger bottles of liqueurs or sauces here and connecting through another EU airport, pack them in checked luggage at Catania to avoid a second security confiscation.
