Take Away

T1

Gate-side fast food in T1 without leaving security

Take Away sits airside in Terminal T1, past security, and runs on a simple formula: quick counter service, standard fast food, and short lines outside of the 06:00–08:00 rush. You grab your food at the counter, then carry it to the nearby common seating area shared with other spots in the T1 departure hall.

Pricing is airport-normal, not shocking: expect around €8–€10 for a burger or sandwich combo and €2–€3 for soft drinks or bottled water. Card payment works fine, including contactless and mobile wallets, which helps if you do not want to break a €50 before boarding at gate 18 or 20.

The menu leans on burgers, fries, and basic hot snacks, with a rotating selection of pre-made sandwiches and wraps in the refrigerated case. Portions run medium-sized, so a single meal deal usually handles you for a 2–3 hour low-cost carrier hop on Ryanair or Wizz Air out of T1. Vegetarian options are usually limited to one or two sandwiches or salads in the fridge.

Service is counter-order only, with orders typically ready in 5–10 minutes off-peak, stretching to 15 minutes when multiple flights to Spain or Italy board from adjacent gates. There is no table service and no separate kids’ menu, but staff are used to families heading to sun routes and can split meals or drinks if you ask.

Food arrives in disposable packaging sized for carry-on use, so you can bring a burger box or sandwich bag straight to gates 15–23 without juggling trays. If your layover in T1 is under 30 minutes, skip the hot food queue here and grab a cold sandwich and drink from the fridge, pay at the same counter, and eat at your gate while boarding starts.
