Parking lot

P9 sits on the south side of Copenhagen Airport

P9 is a surface parking lot at Copenhagen Airport (CPH), set a bit away from Terminals 2 and 3 but still within the airport road system. It’s one of the larger open-air lots, so you’re more likely to find space here during busy summer weeks when the closer garages fill up. Signage around the airport roads clearly lists “P9” with blue parking symbols, so watch the overhead boards once you exit the motorway.

From P9 to Terminal 3 check-in, you should budget around 8–12 minutes total, including the shuttle or walk and a short elevator or escalator ride. The lot itself is uncovered, so cars sit in the open in Danish weather; factor that in if you’re leaving the car for more than 7 days or parking in winter. It’s a standard park-and-go setup: no valet, no reserved bays for specific airlines, just pick a marked space and head toward the pedestrian exits and shuttle stops.

P9 uses Copenhagen Airport’s central payment system, so you pay by license plate recognition and the same tariffs as the other standard long-stay areas. Prices tend to work out cheaper per day than the closer premium garages near Terminal 3, especially on stays beyond 4–5 days. You can usually pre-book P9 on the airport website, which locks in a daily rate and reduces the risk of roll-up pricing during peak dates like July holidays or autumn breaks.

There’s no direct terminal attached to P9, so you rely on the marked walking route or the airport shuttle that circulates between remote lots and Terminals 2 and 3 every few minutes in daytime hours. After 22:00, shuttle frequency can thin out, so add a 10-minute buffer at night. The lot has lighting and standard CCTV coverage, but anything valuable should still go in the boot, not on show in the cabin.

Strong tip: grab a quick photo of your row marker or a nearby sign with “P9” plus the closest lamp post number so you’re not wandering the lot after a late arrival back into CPH.
