Cairns Coffee sits airside in T1 after security, handy if you’ve cleared immigration early and need a flat white before a 6:00 AM departure. It runs from 5:00 AM through to 8:00 PM, so it catches both the first international flights and the evening runs back out of Cairns.

This is a straightforward local café with a price tier in the $ range, so expect airport-markup but not highway robbery: typical coffee sits in the AUD 4–6 band, and basic pastries land under AUD 8. You’re paying to be 30–50 metres from the T1 gates rather than trekking back toward check-in.

The flat white is the move here; Australian basics are the shop’s focus rather than syrup-heavy specials. Order a flat white or cappuccino and skip anything that sounds like a dessert in a cup. Food is mostly grab-and-go bakery items and pre-made wraps, better as a snack before a 3–4 hour hop than as a full meal.

Turnover is fast, so even if there’s a short line of 5–6 people, it usually clears in under 10 minutes.
