After check-in at Terminal 1, walk toward the domestic side

This Korean Food Court sits upstairs on the domestic side of Terminal 1, before immigration, and regulars treat it as the “real” place to eat at Jeju Airport. It’s landside, so you can eat here even on domestic flights or before clearing immigration for international. Prices sit in the $ tier by airport standards, noticeably cheaper than the post-immigration gelato-and-sandwich stall people complain about.

To find it, check your bags on the international side, stay on the same floor, then walk toward the domestic area until you see an escalator going up. Head upstairs and you hit a strip of at least five Korean restaurants plus a café selling bingsu. Think simple local dishes, metal trays, and quick turnover rather than branded chains. You pay at each counter; most spots post photos and prices on the wall, which helps if you don’t read Korean.

Figure on 8,000–12,000 KRW for classics like bibimbap, kimchi jjigae, or tonkatsu, with some places offering set menus under 10,000 KRW. Portions run bigger than typical airport meals, and you’ll usually get kimchi and at least one more banchan included. Drinks are basic: bottled water, soft drinks, and a few spots with canned coffee. The bingsu café gives you dessert options around 6,000–9,000 KRW.

What regulars do here is almost ritual: check bags, walk to the domestic side, ride the escalator up, have a proper meal, then head back to clear immigration around 60–75 minutes before departure. That routine avoids the “nothing but gelato and sandwiches” problem in the international departures area. Give yourself at least 30 minutes upstairs to order, eat, and get back downstairs without rushing.

Practical tip: if you see security and immigration queues building, cap your food court stop at 20 minutes and aim to be back airside 45–60 minutes before boarding, since Terminal 1 lines at CJU can bunch up fast.
