Snack Bar sits landside in Chania’s T1 departures area, just before security, so it works for both arrivals waiting on rides and departures killing time before the queue. It’s a basic counter setup with self-service coolers and a small standing area, more kiosk than full restaurant. Expect to be in and out in under 10 minutes if you already know what you want.

You’ll see the usual Greek airport staples here: pre-made sandwiches, packaged snacks, and bottled drinks. Prices run a bit above town but standard for a tourist airport — think around €4–€5 for a sandwich and €2–€3 for soft drinks or bottled water. Coffee is from a standard espresso machine, with espresso, cappuccino, and freddo-style iced options typically sitting in the €2–€3.50 range.

Food quality is serviceable for a short stop, but you’re dealing with fridge-case items rather than made-to-order meals. Sandwiches with simple fillings like ham and cheese or tomato and feta hold up better than anything overloaded with sauce. Packaged chips, nuts, and chocolate bars are the safest bet if you’re stocking up for a 3–4 hour flight and want something that won’t get soggy.

Service is straightforward counter payment, usually one to two staff on duty during daytime departures peaks. Opening hours track flight banks, so you can generally count on it from early morning departures around 06:00 until the last evening flights around 22:00, but don’t bank on it for true red-eyes outside the schedule.

Tip: if you care about coffee quality, grab your drink here in T1 before security and carry it through; options airside at CHQ can be more crowded and sometimes run tight on time with boarding starting 30–40 minutes before departure.
