On the public side of Chania’s T1, Hudson sits before security and works well for a quick coffee while you’re printing boarding passes or waiting on a taxi. Figure on grabbing something here if you’re early and don’t want to commit to airside food yet.

Opening hours usually track the first and last departures out of T1, so early morning flights around 06:00 and late-night charters still see it open. Because it’s landside, you can also meet arriving friends here without going through security. Expect basic café fare: espresso drinks, bottled water, soft drinks, and light snacks rather than full meals. Treat it as a top-up stop, not your main dinner before a 3-hour flight.

Prices at Hudson sit well under what you’d pay onboard a low-cost carrier ex-CHQ, so grabbing a coffee and a pastry here can be cheaper than buying a sandwich in the air. Think one coffee and a snack coming in under €7 at the time of writing, which lines up with the single “$” price tier. Payment is straightforward: cards widely accepted, and small notes move faster than coins when there’s a line.

Because Hudson is pre-security, build in at least 25–30 minutes to clear T1 checks after you’re done eating or drinking, especially in July–August when package flights hit at once. Don’t cut it close: finish up, then head straight for security before picking a seat near your gate.
