Gate-side books and magazines in Terminal 2

Periplus in Terminal 2 is one of the few spots at CGK where you can still grab a proper English-language paperback before boarding. It sits airside after security, so you can walk over from most domestic and regional gates in under 5–10 minutes. Signage in T2 is decent; look for the bookstore icon on the yellow overhead boards once you clear security.

Stock leans heavily to international titles, with a solid mix of English novels, travel guides, and business books alongside Indonesian-language bestsellers. Prices track imported-book levels in Jakarta malls, so expect to pay full cover price on a US or UK paperback, sometimes with a small airport markup of roughly 10–15%. If you forgot a guidebook for Bali or Singapore, this is one of the few places in T2 likely to have it on the shelf.

Periplus also carries magazines, including a handful of English glossies, plus basic travel extras like neck pillows, travel-size games, and simple stationery. You can usually be in and out in under 5 minutes if you know what you want, but budget 10–15 minutes to browse the racks. Payment is by card or cash in Indonesian rupiah, and receipts print in rupiah only.

Practical tip: walk past the generic souvenir shops toward the mid-terminal restaurant cluster in Terminal 2; Periplus is typically close to that central zone, so you can grab a book and then sit down to eat within the same 50–100 meter stretch of corridor.
