Batik Keris

2

Near the gates in Terminal 2 at CGK, Batik Keris is the straightforward stop for last-minute Indonesian gifts and souvenirs.

This branch sits airside in Terminal 2, so you can browse after security without watching the check-in clock. It focuses on traditional batik clothing plus accessories and small items you can pack easily in a cabin-size bag. Expect higher prices than downtown Jakarta malls, but still reasonable for a major international airport.

You’ll see men’s batik shirts on racks near the entrance, usually in classic brown and indigo patterns, alongside brighter modern prints. Women’s pieces include dresses, blouses, and scarves. Sizes can be hit-or-miss, so if you’re above a standard Asian L, try shirts on before committing. Staff generally speak at least basic English and can point you to specific sizes or pattern styles.

Beyond clothing, the shop stocks batik-themed wallets, bags, keychains, and small framed textiles, handy if you just need a Rp 100,000–200,000 thank-you gift. Ceremonial or premium pieces climb quickly in price, so check tags carefully; some hand-stamped batik can run into the high hundreds of thousands of rupiah. Packaging is basic plastic or paper, but they usually have gift bags behind the counter if you ask.

Card payments in rupiah work fine, and international cards from Visa and Mastercard usually go through without extra questions. If you only have 15–20 minutes before boarding in Terminal 2, walk by your gate first, then double back to Batik Keris so you’re not sprinting with shopping bags.
