Showers in Terminal 2 used to be the whole reason to bother.
Plaza Premium Lounge in CGK Terminal 2 built its name on one thing: working shower rooms in a terminal where many contract lounges didn’t have them at all. Priority Pass gets you in, and for years regulars treated it like a functional pit stop more than a hangout. Even reviewers who weren’t impressed with the space still called out the showers as the main upgrade over most other T2 options.
Back when more international flights left from Terminal 2, frequent flyers on carriers like Cathay Pacific would walk past other lounges to Plaza Premium purely to rinse off. FlyerTalk posts describe the old space as much smaller than the newer Plaza Premium lounge in Terminal 3 and complain about stuffy air and weak circulation. That combo meant a quick 15–20 minute visit for a shower and maybe a drink, then straight back toward the gate lines.
Food gets mixed reviews. Several third‑party reports mention limited variety during busy periods, with a few hot trays, some basic snacks, and simple drinks rather than a long buffet. Think more along the lines of rice, noodles, and a couple of protein options, not a long restaurant-style spread. If you want a real meal before a long‑haul flight, you may still end up buying something in the main Terminal 2 food court and using the lounge mainly for seating and a bathroom stop.
Space has always been the weak point. Older reviews call the previous setup cramped and very stuffy, especially during evening bank times when multiple departures left between 18:00 and 22:00. Seats fill quickly, and it can feel tight once more than one widebody’s worth of passengers cycles through. Compared with the newer Plaza Premium in Terminal 3, most flyers rate the Terminal 2 lounge as a clear step down in breathing room and general comfort.
What regulars do: treat Plaza Premium T2 as an amenities stop. They check in with Priority Pass, head straight for the shower rooms if one is free, grab a drink and a small plate while their devices charge, and aim to be back at the gate about 30 minutes before boarding. If your flight now departs from Terminal 3 instead of 2, don’t try to lounge‑hop between terminals; stick to the lounge on your side of security.
Tip: build at least 45 minutes in Terminal 2 if you want a shower here; at peak evening times, queues form quickly and you don’t want to be toweling off during final call.
