T1’s local fast-food option sits under the Yonghe King sign
In Terminal T1 at Guangzhou Baiyun, Yonghe King is the quick stop when you want Chinese fast food instead of another generic burger. It’s landside in T1, so you can eat here before security if you’re meeting someone or arriving early from downtown Guangzhou on Metro Line 3.
The menu leans on soy milk, youtiao (fried dough sticks), rice bowls, and noodle soups, all ordered at a counter with photos and numbers. Expect chain-style pricing: a basic breakfast set with hot soy milk and youtiao typically runs under ¥30, while rice or noodle combos with meat land around the ¥40–¥55 range.
You order at the cashier, get a ticket, and wait for your number on the screen; turnover is fast, usually under 10 minutes even during morning rush. Compared with some sit-down restaurants in T1 that can take 25–30 minutes, Yonghe King works when you’ve got a 60–90 minute buffer before boarding.
Food is standard mall-level quality: the classic hot soy milk, scallion pancakes, and pork cutlet rice bowls tend to be the safest bets. Portions skew medium, not huge, so a single set may not fill a very hungry traveler on a long-haul day. Drinks are mostly soy-based options and bottled beverages, with prices only a few yuan higher than street locations in Guangzhou.
Staff usually take basic English orders if you point at menu photos, but having your choice ready by number speeds things up. Peak crowds hit before the first bank of morning departures around 07:00–09:00 and again in the early evening wave after 18:00, when grabbing a seat can take a few minutes.
Tip: budget 20 minutes from joining the line to finishing your tray, and then add your separate T1 security time on top so you’re not eating while clock-watching at the checkpoint.
