T1’s Kungfu Fast Food serves Chinese set meals fast

Right in Terminal T1 at Guangzhou Baiyun, Kungfu Fast Food is the quick, Chinese-style chain with the cartoon martial artist logo you see all over mainland stations and malls. It runs typical airport hours (expect early-morning opening through late evening, roughly first to last departures), and everything is ordered at the counter, paid upfront, then picked up on a tray.

Menu structure stays simple: rice or noodle sets with a main, plus sides. Think steamed chicken with rice, braised pork, tofu dishes, basic greens, and soups, all pre-priced in the mid-range for the airport. Expect most individual sets to sit in the 40–65 RMB band, so you can get a filling hot meal without hitting hotel-buffet prices. Soft drinks and bottled tea add another 6–12 RMB.

Food comes out quickly because dishes are batch-cooked and held in warmers, so it works on a 20–30 minute connection if your gate in T1 is close. Portions lean more “normal local lunchbox” than “big Western chain,” so one set feeds one adult; bigger appetites sometimes add an extra side dish for about 10–20 RMB. Spice level is usually mild, and menus often show pictures plus basic English names.

Quality sits in the “better than instant noodles, not a sit-down restaurant” bracket. Rice is usually freshly steamed, meats can be a bit overcooked from holding, and vegetables sometimes arrive soft rather than crisp. Still, it’s a clear step up from grabbing only packaged snacks at the gate, especially if you want something recognisably Chinese before or after a long-haul out of T1.

Tip: check the overhead boards or counter display for current set-meal combos; the daily or limited-time sets are normally the best value per RMB and come out the fastest.
