Many Cairo airport hotels run their own shuttle buses to and from Cairo International Airport (CAI), usually focusing on Terminal 3 international arrivals and departures. Some also pick up at Terminal 2 and Terminal 1, but they often ask guests in Terminal 1 to walk or take the free inter-terminal bus to Terminal 2 or 3 first. Always confirm the exact terminal and meeting point by email or WhatsApp at least 24 hours before landing.
Most hotel shuttles operate 24/7 or at least from about 06:00 to 23:00, with runs every 30–60 minutes depending on the property. A few off-airport hotels on the Ring Road or in Heliopolis group rides to match flight banks, so they might bunch pickups around late-night arrivals between 22:00 and 02:00. If your flight lands outside those windows, expect to wait or pay for a backup Uber or taxi.
Some airport-area hotels near CAI include the Le Méridien Cairo Airport connected to Terminal 3, the Novotel Cairo Airport about 3 km away, and several local chains along Airport Road within a 10–15 minute drive. Many of these offer shuttle service either free or bundled in room rates. Ask for confirmation in Egyptian pounds (EGP) per room, not per person, and get the price in writing if the shuttle is paid.
Pickup points at Terminal 3 are usually just outside arrivals near doors 3–4, while Terminal 2 pickups skew toward the outer curb by the taxi line. Some hotels hold a sign with your name and others only display the hotel logo. In Cairo’s crowd, a printed confirmation with the hotel name and driver’s phone number in +20 format helps avoid hopping into a random car.
Hotel shuttles typically take 5–10 minutes to nearby hotels like Novotel Cairo Airport and 2–3 minutes to Le Méridien from Terminal 3 via the pedestrian bridge or buggy. Expect 20–40 minutes in traffic to hotels in Heliopolis such as the Hilton Cairo Heliopolis or Fairmont Heliopolis, even though they sit only about 8–10 km from the airport.
One practical tip: when you clear customs in Terminals 1, 2, or 3, connect to airport Wi‑Fi and send your hotel a quick “landed” message with the exact terminal and door number; that 30‑second update can cut your shuttle wait by a full cycle of 30–60 minutes.
