R$2–3 bus link from W3 Norte/Sul straight to BSB T1

Urban Bus 31 W3 Norte Sul runs between central Brasilia’s W3 Norte/Sul corridor and Terminal 1 at Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport (BSB). It’s a standard city bus at local fare levels, usually around R$2–3 per ride, so it makes sense if you already live, work, or stay near W3 and want the cheapest possible way to the airport.

The line follows the W3 Norte and W3 Sul axis before heading out to the airport access road and stopping at T1, where all commercial flights operate. Expect typical daytime city headways rather than strict airport schedules; locals report buses roughly every 20–30 minutes in peak daytime, with thinner service at night after 21:00. It’s a single ride with no transfer once you’re on the 31 W3 Norte Sul bus.

Payment works like any regular DF city bus: pay the driver or turnstile farebox in cash (reais) at boarding. Don’t count on card acceptance or large bills; bring coins or small notes like R$5 or R$10. There’s no luggage surcharge and no advance reservations. This is not an airport coach, just a regular urbano line that happens to terminate at T1’s curbside stands.

Comfort is basic: standard city seats, standing room, and minimal air-conditioning performance on hotter afternoons above 30°C. There’s no dedicated luggage rack, so a 23 kg checked suitcase or large backpack will sit in the aisle or on your lap. If you’re carrying more than one bag, or rolling a big 29" suitcase, this bus quickly becomes a hassle, especially at busier commuter times between 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00.

Wayfinding is simple once you know what to look for. On W3 Norte/Sul, check the front sign for “31” and “Aeroporto” or “BSB” before boarding. At BSB Terminal 1, the stop for Bus 31 sits outside the arrivals area on the public road, a short 3–5 minute walk from the baggage claim doors depending on which exit you use. Follow signs toward "Ônibus Urbano" and look for the route number posted on the shelter.

If your flight leaves early, build a buffer and grab a bus at least 2 hours before scheduled departure; traffic from central Brasilia to BSB on the Eixo and access road can stretch the ride to 40–50 minutes during weekday peaks. For late-night landings after 23:00, check ahead locally: service may be sparse, and in that case a metered taxi or app car from T1 might be worth the extra R$40–60.

One last tip: if you’re staying in a hotel on Eixo Monumental or near the Esplanada rather than directly on W3 Norte/Sul, factor in the extra 10–15 minute walk or short feeder bus ride just to reach the 31 W3 Norte Sul corridor; otherwise you may be better off splitting an app car from the city to BSB.
