Juan Valdez Tienda

T1

Gate-side caffeine fix in T1

Right in Terminal T1, Juan Valdez Tienda is the airport outpost of Colombia’s flagship coffee brand, so you’re drinking beans that haven’t traveled far. It sits airside, so you can grab a cup after security without backtracking. Expect standard café seating, usually within sight of nearby T1 gates, and a constant stream of carry-ons queued for takeaway.

Coffee runs in the COP $7,000–$15,000 range depending on size and style, with classic tinto and espresso at the low end and flavored lattes pushing the top. You’ll also see bags of whole beans starting around COP $25,000, plus smaller souvenir packs that fit in a personal item. Pastries and quick bites hover near COP $10,000–$18,000, enough for a light snack before a 2–3 hour flight.

Menu basics cover espresso, cappuccino, lattes, and cold options, all using 100% Colombian coffee under the Juan Valdez label. If you want something sweet before a long-haul, the caramel or vanilla latte is the safer call; if you’re boarding a late-night departure from T1, a straight espresso does the job without a huge cup to juggle in the boarding line. Non-coffee drinkers get hot chocolate and a few teas, also in the COP $7,000–$15,000 band.

Lines in T1 spike around the morning bank of flights between roughly 5:00 and 8:30, when every other person seems to be asking for a cappuccino and a croissant. Afternoons feel calmer, so a 15-minute buffer is usually enough then, but early mornings can stretch wait times closer to 20 minutes. Last tip: buy your ground coffee or beans here in T1 instead of the generic duty-free; labels are clearer, roast dates tend to be fresher, and prices sit a few thousand pesos lower per bag.
