Just past T1 security, Duty Free Americas hits you fast.
This shop sits in El Dorado’s Terminal T1 international departures, right after security and before most gates, so you almost can’t miss it. It runs standard airport hours, roughly from the first outbound flights to the last late-night departures, and it’s one of the larger duty free footprints in the terminal. If you want to grab liquor, perfume, or chocolate without hiking around T1, this is your first major stop.
Prices on liquor and tobacco are typical duty free: better than downtown Bogotá in many cases, but not always a steal once you convert COP and compare to home. You’ll see the usual big whisky and rum brands front and center, plus some Colombian labels mixed in. Watch for promo stacks on multi-bottle packs; those are often the only real savings. Staff are used to quick questions in English and Spanish, and payment in COP, USD, or card isn’t a problem.
Fragrances and cosmetics line most of the middle of the store, with the chocolate and snacks pushed closer to the T1 gate corridor. Expect all the standard global brands, plus coffee gift boxes if you forgot to grab Juan Valdez in the landside area. If you’re tight on time before an international flight, plan on 10–15 minutes here max so you still reach your T1 gate ahead of boarding. Practical move: snap a quick photo of your receipts, in case your connection airport customs asks about values.
