Many BNE hotels run shuttles timed to international arrivals

At Brisbane Airport, a lot of nearby hotels operate van shuttles that line up with peak International terminal arrivals, usually every 20–60 minutes. These are run by the hotels, not the airport. Most properties sit within a 5–15 minute drive of BNE, clustered around Airport Drive, Nudgee Road, and Hendra. Expect shared vans with 8–12 seats and basic luggage space rather than luxury coaches.

Most hotel shuttles at BNE use a pre-booking system, so lock it in when you reserve your room or at least 24 hours before your flight. Many airport-area hotels charge around AUD 10–20 per person each way, while some bundle the shuttle into a “stay and park” rate. Check the exact price and schedule on the hotel’s site; some only run to the International terminal and ask Domestic passengers to connect via the free Airtrain transfer or a short taxi ride.

For the International terminal, shuttles usually pick up and drop off on the hotel and shuttle bay on Level 1 (Arrivals), signposted near the official ride-share and coach zones. Drivers often group runs to match flights landing between 06:00 and 10:00, when BNE’s long‑haul traffic arrives. Build in 15–20 minutes from clearing immigration and customs to walking outside with your bags to meet the van.

For the Domestic terminal, hotel vans typically stop at the public pick-up lanes in front of Qantas and Virgin Australia check-in on Level 1. Travel time from most airport hotels to the Domestic terminal is 5–10 minutes in normal traffic, but the run along Airport Drive can stretch to 15 minutes in weekday peaks around 07:00–09:00 and 16:00–18:00. Some hotels only operate Domestic runs during these peak check‑in windows.

Here’s the basic step‑by‑step for using a hotel shuttle at BNE:

  • 1. When booking your hotel, confirm if a shuttle runs to BNE and which terminal (International or Domestic) it serves.
  • 2. Reserve your shuttle time at least 24 hours before arrival or departure, giving your flight number and landing or take‑off time.
  • 3. On landing, collect your bags and clear immigration/customs at International or security at Domestic; allow 20–30 minutes for this at busy times.
  • 4. Follow airport signs to the hotel and shuttle pick‑up area at your terminal, then look for your hotel’s logo on the van.
  • 5. Check in with the driver by name or confirmation number, then load larger bags into the rear cargo area.
  • 6. Pay the shuttle fee if it’s not already on your room bill; most drivers accept card or charge it back to the room.
  • 7. On departure day, be in the lobby 5–10 minutes before your booked time; aim to leave the hotel at least 2 hours before a Domestic flight and 3 hours before an International flight.

One last tip: if your flight is heavily delayed into BNE by more than 60–90 minutes, call the hotel from the terminal to confirm the van still runs that late; some shuttles stop around 22:00–23:00.
