Landside only until late 2026 for Qantas international business at BNE
Right now the Qantas International Business Lounge at Brisbane sits landside in the International Terminal, used by Qantas and several partner airlines as a combined facility during the ongoing terminal works that run until at least late 2026.
Access is only after you’ve checked in for an international Qantas or oneworld flight, but before security screening and passport control, so you have to build in extra time to clear formalities after leaving the lounge.
The lounge is signed simply as the “Qantas International Business Lounge” in the main international departures hall, and regulars on FlyerTalk just call it the “BNE QF Int lounge” when comparing how it works now versus the old airside layout.
Entry follows the usual Qantas/oneworld rules: international business‑class boarding pass, Qantas Club or Qantas Frequent Flyer status, or oneworld Sapphire/Emerald on an eligible same‑day international flight from the International Terminal.
There is no standard public day pass sold at the door here at BNE, unlike some other Qantas lounges, so you either qualify through cabin/status or you skip it and head straight through security.
The trade‑off with the new landside location is time: Qantas communications, quoted on FlyerTalk, explicitly tell business‑class passengers to allow extra time after leaving the lounge to re‑clear security and passport control before boarding.
Because of that delay, frequent international flyers out of Brisbane say the lounge is now effectively off the table for tight connections under about 90 minutes, especially if you’re arriving from the Domestic Terminal and need to transfer terminals first.
Regulars have adjusted by arriving at the airport a good 30–45 minutes earlier than they used to, spending that time in the lounge landside, then heading airside in one clean run closer to boarding time.
Watch your timing: set a hard “leave the lounge” alarm 60 minutes before scheduled departure for peak evening banks, so you’re not that person sprinting to a closing gate after underestimating the extra security and immigration queue.
