Car Rental Desks

All major car hire counters sit together in BJV’s arrivals hall

Car Rental Desks at Milas Bodrum Airport line the main arrivals area, just after baggage claim in both the Domestic and International terminals. You don’t go outside for these; they’re in the terminal, before you hit the taxi queue. That makes it easy to compare offers from several brands in one pass instead of committing at the first counter you see.

Most desks mirror the big online players on price, with small local firms sometimes undercutting by €5–10 per day in summer. Expect pre-authorisations on your card that can hit €600–1,200 if you skip their insurance. If you booked through a broker site, bring the voucher number printed and ready; some agents still ask to see a physical or PDF copy, not just an app screenshot.

International terminal arrivals see longer lines between June and September, especially for flights landing between 10:00 and 14:00. Domestic arrivals usually clear faster, but late-evening flights after 22:00 can find fewer staff on the smaller desks. Counter teams commonly share phones and printers, so one hiccup at a desk can slow the entire row for 10–15 minutes.

Fuel policies vary a lot: some counters in BJV still run full-to-empty with steep per-litre charges, while others stick to full-to-full. Walk the line once, ask each about insurance excess, fuel policy, and out-of-hours return fees, then pick; five extra minutes at the counters can save a chunk of cash at drop-off.
