Daily rates at P2 beat the short-stay garage by far
P2 is Bilbao Airport’s official long-stay car park for T1, set up for trips that run past a couple of days. It sits a bit farther from the terminal than P1, but pricing is aimed at stays of several days instead of quick drop-offs. If your booking shows “Parking Larga Estancia P2,” this is the right lot.
The car park serves Terminal 1 only, which is the entire BIO passenger operation, so you don’t have to guess terminals. Walking time from P2 to the main departures area is roughly 5–10 minutes depending on your row. Follow the posted “Larga Estancia P2” signs from the airport access road and keep an eye on lane splits near the terminal.
P2 is officially operated by Aena, the same operator that runs the terminal, so entry and exit use the same style of ticket barriers and payment machines as P1. You collect a ticket at the barrier or scan your online reservation QR code at the gate. Keep the ticket handy; you’ll need it at the pay station before you drive out.
Online prebooking for P2 usually locks in lower long-stay rates than paying on exit, especially for 3+ days. Reservations run through Aena’s website and confirm your number plate and dates. If you drive a rental car with a different plate than planned, the QR code on your booking still works at the barrier.
P2 is an open-air surface lot, so your car sits outside rather than under a roof like parts of P1. Spaces are standard-width, with marked rows and section letters on posts to help you find the car again. Take a photo of the nearest section marker, for example “Sector C3,” before you walk off toward T1.
Payment machines sit by the pedestrian exits closest to T1, with card and cash options and 24/7 operation. Use your ticket or QR, pay the total, then you have a limited time window, typically around 15–20 minutes, to reach the exit barrier. If the machine rejects a card, there is usually a help button that calls the Aena control room.
Security patrols and cameras cover the lot, but it’s still an outdoor public car park beside an active airport. Don’t leave obvious items on display on the seats, and avoid storing luggage in view before you park in your final space. If you return on a late flight after 23:00, stick to the lit walkways between T1 and P2 rather than trying to cut through unmarked areas.
Tip: on departure day, budget an extra 15 minutes to walk from your car in P2 to T1 check-in, especially if you’re wrangling two or more suitcases.
