Gate-side burger fix in Terminal 1

Right in Berlin Brandenburg’s Terminal 1, this McDonald’s covers the basics for a fast, predictable meal before a flight. You’re not here for atmosphere; you’re here because you can get a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for under €10 and still make boarding at Gate B in time. The 3.7 rating tracks: fine when you know what to expect, frustrating if you hope for anything beyond standard airport fast food.

Being inside Terminal 1 means you’re already through the main BER security funnel, which can easily run 20–30 minutes at peak times. Food comes out quickly by airport standards, often under 5–10 minutes even when the line looks long. The menu is the usual German McDonald’s line-up: Big Mac, McChicken, Chicken McNuggets, plus Germany-only items that rotate every few months.

Prices run a bit higher than city branches; budget roughly €8–€12 for a standard meal and around €3 for a coffee or soft drink. Portion sizes are standard McDonald’s, so don’t expect the larger cups you might know from the US. If you want something quick to carry to the gate, stick with burgers, nuggets, or fries; anything with more packaging fuss slows you down.

Lines spike around the early morning bank (06:00–09:00) and again around the late-afternoon departures between 16:00 and 19:00. Seating in the immediate area fills up fast at those times, so plan to grab your tray and head toward your actual gate zone in Terminal 1 for a better shot at finding a free seat.

Tip: if your boarding time is inside 20 minutes, skip the full meal, grab a coffee and fries or a single burger, and walk straight toward your specific 1A/1B gate before you unwrap anything.
