Gate 3 snacks when everything else in Terminal 1 feels closed
Snack Bar by Gate 3 sits airside in Terminal 1, a few steps from the actual Gate 3 seating area, so you can keep an eye on boarding while grabbing food. It’s a small counter setup, more grab-and-go than sit-down, and usually opens in time for the morning departures out of ANU. Expect basic airport pricing rather than downtown Antigua prices; drinks often sit in the US$3–5 range, with simple food higher.
You’ll find pre-made sandwiches, chips, candy, and bottled drinks, geared to quick turnarounds near the single-digit gates. Stock skews toward cold items near the fridge by the counter, plus some packets and bars on shelves. If you’re connecting off an island hopper and haven’t eaten since a 6:00 a.m. departure, this is the closest option to Gate 3 without walking back toward central concessions.
Coffee and soft drinks anchor the beverage side, with canned sodas and water bottles in the cooler right beside the till. Don’t expect specialty espresso gear or fresh smoothies; think filter coffee in paper cups and standard 330 ml soda cans. Alcohol may be hit-or-miss, and prices can jump above US$7 for beer or minis when available.
Food quality runs “good enough before boarding,” especially if you grab items that are clearly fresh in the front of the cooler near the date labels. Packaged snacks travel well and survive longer flights like ANU–YYZ or ANU–LGW, while anything with mayonnaise is better eaten before the first boarding call. If you’re picky, stick to sealed items with printed expiry dates.
Practical tip: buy water and snacks here before a 3–5 hour flight, as buy-on-board prices from some airlines out of ANU often exceed what you’ll pay at Snack Bar by Gate 3.
