Gate 1 terrace with apron views is the real draw here

The Executive Lounge sits in Terminal 1 just left after security by Gates 1–2, and the outdoor terrace looking straight over the apron is what people remember. It opens at 11:00am daily, but closing time moves with the flight schedule, so late BA departures usually see it open into the evening.

Access runs through Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Lounge Pass, Diners Club, DragonPass, or a walk-in fee that reviewers peg around US$60–65 per person. One local channel has quoted US$39 pre-booked, so pricing clearly shifts by intermediary. If you hold oneworld status with BA, you still need the paper invite from check-in; the desk treats this as a contract lounge, not automatic elite access.

Inside, think one main room with basic armchairs, small tables, and working air‑conditioning that reviewers mention as a relief in the mid‑day heat. Wi‑Fi works for messaging and light browsing, but nobody raves about speed. A typical three-hour maximum stay applies for Priority Pass and similar schemes, and staff do mention that limit when you check in.

Food is where expectations often get clipped. Multiple reports say the buffet counter is frequently empty, and instead you order from a small menu at the bar – sandwiches and a few hot dishes, not a full hot spread. Several repeat visitors say they were “not impressed with the food,” calling it underwhelming for a lounge that can cost US$65 at the door.

Drinks also run through the bar rather than self‑serve. You order soft drinks, basic spirits, beer, and wine from staff, with no mention of premium labels or cocktails beyond simple pours. One FlyerTalk poster summed it up as “not much” beyond air‑conditioning, a few snacks, and the terrace, so treat the alcohol as functional, not a reason to pay the day‑pass price.

There are no showers at all in this lounge, which catches some beach‑goers off guard on the way home from resorts. A video reviewer specifically called out wishing for a shower after hot, humid days before overnight flights. If you need to clean up, you’re limited to the Terminal 1 restrooms outside near Gate 1.

Regulars try to time visits outside the British Airways departure wave, since a blogger noted the room “never got crowded” off‑peak, with empty seats and easy access to the terrace. Many Priority Pass holders say they would not pay the US$60+ walk‑in rate and would simply sit at the gate instead if their pass didn’t work that day.

Tip: If your flight leaves from Gate 1 or 2, board from the lounge side and give yourself 15 minutes before departure to settle the bill for any extras and walk back inside from the terrace.
