Duty-free spirits and pralines in one hit

Chocolates & Liquor sits airside at Amsterdam Schiphol, inside the main duty-free shopping zone after security. You’ll see it near the central walkthrough where the large liquor counters and premium chocolate brands cluster together. Figure 5–10 minutes’ walk from most Schengen gates if you’re not dawdling.

The shop leans on two things: boxed chocolates and bottles you can carry straight onto your next KLM or partner flight. Expect big European names in pralines and truffles alongside Scotch, Dutch genever, liqueurs, and some travel-exclusive whisky and cognac releases. Standard 1‑liter duty-free spirits often price around €18–€30, while small chocolate gift boxes start near €6–€8 and scale up quickly.

Selection skews toward gifts: ribboned assortments, Schiphol and Amsterdam‑branded tins, and 3‑x‑miniatures spirit packs under 100 ml each. If you need something for colleagues, a mixed chocolate ballotin in the €15–€25 range lands better than the cheapest souvenir boxes by the registers. Skip the very bulky cartons if you still have a short connection; they’re awkward in the narrow overheads on 737 and A320 cabins.

The shop opens early morning in line with first wave departures and typically trades through the late‑evening long‑haul bank; assume roughly 06:00–22:00, but late‑night flights sometimes see shorter hours. Card payments in euros are the norm, and duty‑free pricing only applies when your final destination is outside the EU. Last tip: check your connection airport rules before buying over 100 ml, especially if you’ll re‑screen in the US or UK and don’t get your bottle sealed in an official STEB bag.
