Gate-side caffeine fix in T1 before regional departures
This Starbucks sits airside in Queen Alia’s T1, handy for many Royal Jordanian and regional flights once you clear security and passport control. It’s one of the few global chains in the terminal, so expect a steady line during the morning rush from about 05:00 to 09:00.
Menu is standard Starbucks with local tweaks: espresso drinks, Frappuccinos, brewed coffee, plus snacks and pastries. A tall latte usually runs in the 3–4 JOD range, which is airport pricing but not outrageous for AMM. If you need something quick before boarding, the ready-made sandwiches in the 4–6 JOD band are often the fastest option.
Seating is limited and close to the main T1 concourse walkway, so this is more grab-and-go than sit-for-an-hour. Power outlets are hit-or-miss along the nearby seats; bring a charged power bank if you’re planning to work between, say, a 2-hour Dubai–Amman–Europe connection. Lines spike 30–40 minutes before banked departures on RJ, then drop off sharply.
Staff typically move drinks quickly compared with some smaller coffee spots in T1, which matters if boarding starts 25–30 minutes before your flight. Name calling is done in both Arabic and English. If you order anything more complex than a plain filter coffee, pad your timing by at least 10 minutes during peak banks.
A rough price check: black coffee around 2–3 JOD, espresso-based drinks 3–5 JOD, and sweet items like cakes or muffins sitting near the 3 JOD mark. No major surprises if you know standard Starbucks sizing and upsell patterns. AMM accepts cards widely, and this branch usually takes contactless with no issue.
Practical tip: if your gate is at the far end of T1, grab your drink first, then walk; it can be a 7–10 minute stroll to some remote gates once your name shows on the screens.
