Blue Fig

T1 ★ 4.5

Gate-side in T1, Blue Fig is the sit-down option

Right in Queen Alia’s Terminal 1, Blue Fig is the main full-service restaurant before you head to your gate. It sits airside in the departures area, so you only get here after security. Expect proper tables, a printed menu, and service that matches its solid 4.5-star reputation from recent flyers using AMM regularly.

Menu pricing runs in the mid-range for an airport: think roughly café-style sandwich prices rather than hotel-restaurant levels, with coffee and soft drinks adding a few dinars to the bill. There’s usually enough seating to handle a couple of full A320 departures, so you can actually sit with a laptop and eat instead of hovering with a tray near the gate.

Food skews international café more than fast food, with things like grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, and pasta on rotation, plus desserts in the 3–6 JOD band at most visits. Coffee and espresso drinks tend to be better than what you’ll grab at a generic kiosk, which matters on those late-night long-haul banks out of T1. Portions are airport-normal, not huge, so plan on one main per person if you’re actually hungry.

Service pace is fine for a 60–90 minute layover, but tight for a 30-minute dash to boarding, especially in the evening when multiple long-hauls leave within an hour. Staff handle English and Arabic orders without drama, and bills usually come quickly once you ask. Figure on about 20–30 minutes from order to finish for a simple main and drink.

Tip: If your boarding pass shows a bus gate in T1, pay your bill at least 35 minutes before departure; they start lining people up early and you don’t want to watch your group disappear while your card receipt is printing.
